Andre 3000’s New Blue Sun album… I recommend listening with a yoga mat, ready to move in ways you may not have considered—without instruction. Watch on YouTube for a completely transcendent experience. This immersive enchantment brought a breathing synchronicity, and in that shared moment, I truly felt ‘one’ with the great Andre 3000.

As a creative, this album resonates deeply with me and inspired this review. No creative work requires validation, so let my comments reflect only my appreciation, from one artist to another. For me, this listening experience was a practice in patience and surrender. I knew Mr. Three-Thousand was working on a creative project that was musical, yet different from anything the world had seen before.

The mood is knowing, not feeling, doing. It’s less introspective than a blue moon, dancing alone.

Months later—who’s counting—New Blue Sun and its “visualizer” popped up in my YouTube feed. It was a welcome gift of sound, colour, and movement that transcended the physical boundaries of my perception. Truly transcendental, my hearing and being became more finely tuned, still basking in the glory of New Blue Sun.

There are eight tracks and each one plays like the interlude to one of my twelve playlists in iTunes. It fortifies the theme of sound for each in a way that feels magical and intentional. If you take your playlist as serious as I do this added texture heightened the listening experience.

This album plays like the score for a motion picture with a call to embrace what is known and continue my journey as myself. In-touch with natural systems and cycles: life, death, and rebirth. Look for these themes in my fashion and creative process.
