My Thrifted Fashion Journey: Styling a Unique Collection of Outfits

Returning to my creative side always feels like coming home.

Whether in salon, raising funds through fashion retail, or curating my wardrobe at home, I’m always learning, experimenting, and refining my aesthetic. Being back in this creative space reminds me that style isn’t about perfection. It’s about expression, trial and error, and the joy of putting pieces together until they feel right.

After spending time in the salon—immersed in curly haircare, products, and ingredients—I step back into fundraising-fashion retail with a renewed sense of energy. The two worlds overlap seamlessly. Hair and fashion are about self-expression, confidence, and the artistry of presenting oneself.

Fashion, for me, is more than fabric and accessories—it’s a lived practice. It exists at the intersection of creativity, identity, and practicality.

Without the constraints of a traditional corporate wardrobe, my collection has always been about unique pieces rather than pre-assembled outfits. The challenge, in this case — finding ways to put it all together. To guide my choices, I focus on three principles: pairing pieces intentionally so they can form complete looks, coordinating outfits for the season helps limit options, mood and colour influence the final expression.
