31 Aug Prim and Proper – My New York Fashion Week Prep
Walk with me. We’re nearly a week out from New York Fashion Week, bridging the gap between late summer and early fall and we have a laundry list of to-dos. Let’s start uptown with a visit to a skilled shoe cobbler – a crucial pitstop to ensure comfort during the flurry of shows. Next, we’ll stop by the thrifty non-profit flagship store to deliver gently used articles of fashion, where we’ll lovingly contribute gently worn fashion pieces from our personal collection.
While this dreamy season may signify change, a notification to pick up my tailored outfit reinforces the value of thoughtful decisions. With a whirlwind of runway spectacles, cocktail soirees, and special events awaiting, it’s evident that a couple of new wardrobe essentials are in order. Once we’ve secured the look we most likely visit the nail salon. There’s no feeling like getting your almond-shaped talons painted an eye-catching colour like red or even bright blue if you’re feeling adventurous. Finally, we’ll head home to organize our calendar and decide what shows to attend. That’ll be a tough call since this season is stacked with presentations by Sergio Hudson, Elena Velez, Diotima and more.
Meanwhile, my radar is attuned to burgeoning handbag trends – a quest driven by my pursuit of the perfectly structured handbag. No matter how diligently i prepare for the upcoming fashion season, I’m compelled to catch up with select and beloved fashion individuals I know from their street style. The subsequent twenty-two days of blogging will offer a glimpse into their lives as they change cloths.
